KABUL- (Wakht News Agency): Islamic Republic of Iran donated two new solar energy supplier machines with a capacity of 50 Megawatt (MW), to Kabul Water and Energy department, said an official here on Monday.
In exclusive interview with Wakht, Eng Muhammad Serwar Seddiqi, the Head of Kabul’s Energy and Power department said “by installing the new solar technologies, more than 50 thousands families will be benefited from electricity in Kabul city.”
Currently Kabul Water and Energy Department obtain 96 MW energy from Naghlu dam, 26 additional MW will be obtained from two recent installed turbines in Sorubi Hydropower, while by adding the two new solar systems, the total amount of energy will exceed to 160 MW, Seddiqi added.
Further more he said to keep Kabul city alight in 24 hours , 200 MW power is required, despite this by adding the two news solar machines 80 percent of Kabul’s citizens troubles will be cut down, to reduce the electric shortages.
Meanwhile Muhsin Darmani, an advisor to the Ministry of Water and Energy, in Islamic Republic of Iran told News Agency:” the solar machines were laden around 21 days back with the support of Afghan National Security branches, and finely it reached to Kabul yesterday at 4 PM local time. Nonetheless the security wasn’t that much good on the highway of Herat-Kabul.
110 kilowatts transformer as a part of the two solar systems, reached a month ahead to Kabul, Darmani added.
According to Darmani, Iranian engineers will install and will be operating the new solar Machines.
Iran will be supporting the Afghan personals following a year and will be providing adequate spar parts without any charges for its operation over next three years, Darmani concluded.
