KABUL – 25 April,2008 (Wakth News Agency ): International Security Assistance forces(ISAF) medical team of Helmand province assisted an Afghan child who was injured in an explosion near Gereshk on Tuesday said ISAF in statement ,here on Friday.
The 5-years-old boy, was badly injured when he was caught in an explosion, thought to be a landmine. He was treated at the scene by ISAF soldiers until the ISAF Medical Emergency Response Team arrived.
Soon after the incident, the child had been moved to Bost Hospital where he received life-saving medical treatment from Afghan and ISAF medics the statement told.
“It is tragic when children are caught in the violence of conflict, but thanks to the rapid response of the ISAF and Afghan medical teams this boy has good prospects for the future,” said Lieutenant Colonel Sarto LeBlanc, Regional Command South spokesperson.
“The child was able to receive life saving treatment from the medical services at Bost, and we expect him to make a full recovery.” Sarto Leblanc said.
