HELMAND-29 March, 2008 (Wakth News Agency): A bomb has exploded near a power plant in restive Halmand province, killing two employees and wounded eight more.
Helmand province's police chief, Mohammad Hussein Andiwal, told the news agency, that the remote-controlled bomb was hidden near the wall of plant and was detonated Saturday morning.
Six other employees and two civilian passer-by were also wounded at the blast, he added.
Andiwal says the plant machinery was slightly damaged, but the power supply was not interrupted.
The explosion hit in the Gereshk district, following the two explosions in last week, which killed 3 police officer and dozen other civilians.Taliban rebels claimed for responsibilities of those attacks.
