HELMAND – 17 March, 2008 (Wakth News Agency):The NATO convoy was struck today 10 am local time at Gereshk district of Helmand province said an official on Monday.
The provincial police chief, Mohammad Hussein Andiwal, says the attack happened at Herat Kandahar Highway.
"Three Afghans were killed and seven wounded when a suicide bomber exploded near international troops."he added.
All the wounded people have been transferred to nearby hospitals and health care facilities, said Andiwal to the news agency, but he didn't determine condition of those injured at this attack.
The NATO force spokesman Simon Miller confirmed the strike and told the News Agency, that an emergency medical team has dispatched to the spot, to provide basic health care to injured Afghans.
Nobody claimed the responsibility so far, but mostly this kind of attacks carried by Taliban insurgents in the impoverished country.
According to the United Nations more than 8,000 people died from insurgency related violence in Afghanistan.
